Oct 22, 2021
Happy Friday Change-Makers!
Many people are asking me about reinventing oneself. What does it take? How do I know it is time for reinvention? What does reinvention entail? How long until I know that I am "reinvented"? Is it a happy process?
So many questions but also so many myths flying around about reinvention. I definitely pride myself in being a Reinvention Strategist because I believe in the liberation of transformation.
So today, I am sharing 3 myths about reinvention! Here are 3 untruths and (4 truths) you need to know as you prepare for your reinvention.
P.S here are hard truths....no sugarcoating! Put that sweet thought down.

P.P.S Today is National Color Day. I love 😍 colors so I indulged a bit to make this message "colorful"😆. So onto the myths-
Myth #1 -
Reinvention is about getting a new look.
Truth #1-
No, my sistah in midlife- Reinvention is about a new OUTLOOK! Reinvention is about getting a new perspective and shifting one's viewpoint in preparation for newness. Reinvention is about stepping into a new growth phase.
And growth, as you may well know, entails discomfort! So while there is a new look after reinvention, our focus is more about the new OUTLOOK.
A new OUTLOOK is needed for you to step aside from your current position and see your life from another perspective.
This shift takes a lot of introspection, discomfort, hard truth and discipline - That's why you need a TRANSFORMATION COACH.
Oprah Winfrey and Serena Williams, are prime examples. They both credit much of their personal and professional growth to their life coaches.
Myth #2 -
Reinvention is about loss.
Truth #2 -
Reinvention is about GAINing new grounds, gaining a renewed sense of self and the freedom to thrive.
Reinvention is the difference between living and thriving. Reinvention awards you the freedom thrive.
When you decide to reinvent yourself, yes sistah in midlife, you let go of the former self to make room for the new self. This includes letting go of the fear, doubt, and worry that is weighing down your current self.
RIGHT NOW...there is a battle between...
Fear of you who currently are VS. Freedom of who you are becoming.
You decide- Will you choose to live a life buried in fear versus a life born out of freedom?
This is the battle Peter went through after denying Jesus 3x and then deciding (after introspection, discomfort, hard truth and discipline) to reinvent himself as the rock on which Jesus built His Church
Myth #3 -
Reinvention is smooth, fun and everything runs copasetic 🥳.
Truth #3 -
Reinvention is a time of introspection and intimacy but a with an eye on joy.
Reinvention isn't always an easy process - don't do it alone.
Sistah in Midlife, you need to arm yourself with a solid circle of TRUSTED people that can provide support, encouragement and accountability (S.E.A).
See puberty years 🥺 I am sure glad I had my small group of friends to provide S.E.A.
